2005/6

The results in the 2005/6 SATs (Secondary Assessment Tests) were extremely pleasing. 70% of the results at Key Stage 2 were at Level 5 (the highest standard). This represented a large improvement in measurable (value-added) terms for these pupils, as 30% had achieved the highest standard in their equivalent tests at Key Stage 1 four years before. The breakdown of the SATs results is as follows:

Key Stage 1 (Year 2)
80% of the year group gained the national standard of Level 2B or above
36% of the results were at the highest standard, Level 3
24% of the pupils gained Level 3 in every subject
Key Stage 2 (Year 6)
99% of the year group gained the national standard of Level 4 or above
70% of the results were at the highest standard, Level 5
50% of the children gained a Level 5 in every subject
Value Added
30% of the current Year 6 gained the highest standard at Key Stage 1 in 2002
70% of the same year group gained the highest standard at Key Stage 2 in 2006

Pupils in Year 8 have achieved record numbers of scholarships for the last few years, but this year was special. Every single pupil in Year 8 gained not just a place, but a scholarship or award - Music, Art, Academic - to the secondary school of his or her choice, and they all successfully passed their Common Entrance Exams. 2005/6 was the last year in which all Year 8 pupils had to leave the school, so their considerable success was a fitting way to mark that historic year.

Whilst other year groups have been involved with SATs or Scholarship entrance, Years 3 & 4 have taken English Speaking Board examinations with great success. 100% of the year group gained a Good Pass or better, and 28% gained a Distinction.
