![]() The most impressive coach (for the boys anyway) ever gracing the streets of Burton More than 50 teams entered the 15th Prima Tiger Cup, which began at the start of the season with a series of rugby festivals held around the country. Burton won through from the Staffordshire festival held at Stoke RFC before beating Norfolk side Holt in the quarter finals and then three-time former winners Lutterworth in the semi final at Welford Road. Finalists Stratford however were the slightly stronger team on the day and, after a nail biting match, the final score was 2 – 1 in favour of Stratford. However, the Burton team had a fantastic day: their coaches had arranged for them to travel in style in the England Rugby Team Coach to and from Burton and Welford Road. And running out of the tunnel on to the Welford Road ground for the third time in as many months made the day memorable for many years to come. Steve Bratt - Director of Sport |
