A dramatic term ahead!Drama at LCS is about creating a learning environment where students can explore the world and their relationship to it, develop their self-awareness and understand others through fictional contexts. It's also an enormous amount of fun. In November, Years 9 and 10 will be taking part in the Shakespeare Schools Festival, performing a reduced (30 minute) version of Julius Caesar in the Prince of Wales Theatre in Cannock on Monday 1 November at 7pm. For some classes, drama is used as a learning medium and the work is part of an ongoing experience, not intended for public display. For others, the pupils will work towards a performance at the end of term. As is traditional in the Christmas Term, the Reception Class and Years 3, 5 and 6 will all perform very different versions of the Nativity. In addition, there will be School trips to the Birmingham Hippodrome, the New Victoria Theatre, the Old Rep and the Regent Threatre in Stoke on Trent, where students can learn from professionals and benefit from the unique thrill of a live performance. |
