My name is Mr Healey and I have come to this current post as an NQT after completing three years of work within a sixth form college in Newcastle-under-Lyme. I am teaching a wide variety of subjects including Geography and PSHE although my main two subjects are History and PE/Games. I will also be playing a large part in the inspirational and character building Duke of Edinburgh programme for our Year 10 pupils this year. Both my PGCE and undergraduate degree were completed at the University of Leeds before heading off on the exciting and, seemingly now obligatory, year out travelling the globe. Upon my return I took up my post at Newcastle-under-Lyme College and worked there for three enjoyable years before my appointment here at this fantastic school. Whilst enjoying and being involved with a number of sports, my main sport of choice is Rugby Union in which I am a former England schoolboy international and current semi-professional player. I am thoroughly impressed and enthused with many things here at Lichfield Cathedral School including the facilities, opportunities available here and the ever welcoming and helpful fellow staff members. What has impressed me more than anything else however has been the fine calibre of pupils I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work with here – pleasant, enthusiastic, polite and intelligent. I am fervently looking forward to helping play a part in the development of these pupils in to fine and successful individuals for which success and opportunity should know no bounds!
