Tickets are now on sale for Lichfield Cathedral’s Christmas Cracker concert by candlelight on Friday 19th December at 7.30pm.

The Cathedral Choir’s Christmas Concert (flyer) has become a regular favourite in the Christmas calendar and this year will include Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols” and other seasonal favourites. The Cathedral Choir will be joined by the harpist Tanya Houghton and the Lichfield Cathedral Brass Ensemble.

Philip Scriven, Director of Music and Master of the Choristers at the Cathedral said of the concert:

“We always look forward to our Christmas Cracker Concert as a real highlight in our concert calendar and enjoy singing to a large and appreciative audience each year. The Choristers are especially looking forward to performing Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols”, which is one of Britten’s most popular choral works and is particularly associated with Christmas. The fact that the concert will be performed by candlelight will create a wonderfully evocative atmosphere.”

Tickets are priced at £10 and £15 and are available from the Cathedral shop (No. 9, The Close) or telephone 01543 306150.
