Lichfield Cathedral School is offering boys and girls who love to sing a superb opportunity to enjoy being a part of their choral tradition. On Saturday 10th November they are holding a Choral Experience Day for boys and girls to be able to spend time with the Lichfield Cathedral Choristers and the Girls’ Choir. The girls, who should be aged from 9 – 14, will get the chance to sing some entertaining music with the choir and hear about the girls’ life as members of this specialist group, including future engagements, concerts, tours and services. Launched in 2006, the choir is already in great demand for concerts; they are singing a weekly service in the Cathedral and on a number of occasions, have sung Choral Evensong and Sung Eucharist. The boys, who should be aged from 6 – 9, will have the chance to feel what it’s like to be a Lichfield Cathedral Chorister. They will experience the daily routine and hear about the radio and TV broadcasts, concerts, recordings and tours – and ask all the questions they’ve ever wanted answered about life as a chorister. They will even have the chance to sing and process with the choristers in the Cathedral during Evensong. All members of both choirs receive valuable choral scholarships and are educated at Lichfield Cathedral School, so visitors will also have the chance to have a guided tour of the school and cathedral on the day. If you would like to join in with this Choral Experience Day, or if you know of any girl or boy who you think would benefit from this great opportunity, call Mrs Lesley Bannister on 01543 306168 for further information and the full timetable for the day. |
