On Tuesday of this
week, Father Timothy Whitwell was welcomed as Chaplain of Lichfield Cathedral
School through a formal service of licensing officiated by the Lord Bishop of Lichfield in the School Chapel and in the Cathedral.
Father Whitwell joins
the school from two parishes in
As the School
chaplain he will be offering the School community Pastoral care, this will
extend to the members of the Girls’ Choir and the boarders especially the full
and probationary Choristers. I am under no illusions that I have a demanding task ahead of me at a time in the School’s burgeoning life but I do believe my appointment will be a key role and presence in School at both sites and one that will be lived out with compassion, sincerity and enthusiasm. Indeed, what gladdens my heart is the way that I have been welcomed by the superb pupils and brilliant staff at LCS – thank you so much! One last thing; there may be times when you need to talk with me about your son or daughter – please do not hesitate to telephone the School to arrange to see me. We live in exciting times at Lichfield Cathedral School when there are many good things happening. Happy days!” Father Tim will also be available to prepare candidates for Baptism and Confirmation, and has an area of Chaplaincy where pupils and staff are welcome to relax and share any worries in confidence. |
