Lichfield Cathedral School pupil, Jon Cox, has qualified to represent Great Britain in an International Judo Tournament.
Jon, 10, from Shenstone, qualified at the National Closed Amateur Judo Association competition in Castle Vale last month and is off to Holland on Saturday (May 14) to take part in the 10th Houvast Judo Tournament competing against teams from Germany, France, Spain, Belgium and Holland.

Jon has been training for five years with the Meiji Judokwai club at Burntwood Leisure Centre and his coach, Stuart Hogg, said “Jon is a very enthusiastic young man who sets his goals high and will do all he can to achieve them. For a couple of years he has had ambitions to enter this international judo competition and now he has the chance. He is very proud to be representing the AJA for Great Britain and has the capability to do very well. We are all very proud of him.”
