Tax-efficient giving for UK-based donorsThe most tax-effective methods of giving are Gift Aid, Payroll Giving, Share Giving and Legacies. Gift AidAs the school is a registered charity, donations can be made tax efficiently with the reclaimed tax adding to the school’s funds through gift aid. In this way we can claim an additional 25p for each £1 donated at no extra cost to you. Payroll GivingPayroll Giving is a flexible scheme that enables donors to make charitable donations straight from their gross salary. For example a £10.00 donation, will only cost £8.00 or just £6.00 for higher rate taxpayers. Share GivingThe giving of share to LCS will enable donors to get substantial relief on their income tax bill, as well as exemption from Capital Gains Tax (CGT) on any gains they may have made on the shares. As with Payroll Giving, all the tax relief goes to the donor. LegaciesCharitable legacies reduce the total amount of inheritance tax due from the estate. Legacies are left through the donor's will or simply by a declaration to the executors with instructions as to how and to which charity a legacy is to be distributed. Regular GiftsBy using a standing order you can help spread your payments over the course of the year and also provide a regular income stream to the Annual Fund. Online GivingMaking a donation online is quick, easy and secure. We will soon be introducing this to the website: watch this space. |
