John Cox, in Year 9 at the Cathedral School has won yet another judo gold medal, this time at the Independent Schools Judo Competition at High Wycombe on Sunday 24th May.

In his first fight, John had to face a British Judo Cadet and won an extremely close bout in the final three seconds.

Winning his next three fights, John managed to achieve a maximum score in this points competition – meaning that he didn’t concede a single point – and therefore winning him the Gold Medal.

This win follows on from John taking the gold medal in the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) individual judo congress in February.
