The School has established a strong and well-deserved reputation in the performing arts, with instrumental and choral music, drama and dance featuring strongly in the programme of events. All children are encouraged to take part, yet the highest standards are pursued. The School believes that the process is as important as the finished product. Our pupils enjoy a wide range of physical pursuits. Not every child will wish to be in a team, but we aim to provide physical challenges for all. As well as a range of sporting activity, the School organises weekend activity trips for older children. Senior pupils have the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and an even greater selection of activities in sport. Different academic departments collaborate to arrange overseas trips - for example, the Languages and Art Departments organised a visit to Barcelona. Language exchanges are extremely popular and enable pupils to experience life and learning in other cultures. Academic clubs and societies are flourishing, allowing the gifted and talented to extend their interests and experiment with new ideas. For example, the Debating Society and Maths Club provide opportunities for the development and extension of young minds and opinions. |
