Welcome from the Headmaster
Welcome to Lichfield Cathedral School. This web site will give you a glimpse into what goes on at this school but to appreciate it fully I hope you will come and visit us in the inspirational settings of the Cathedral Close and the delightful Junior School at Longdon Green, just outside Lichfield.
We take strength from our integral links with the Cathedral; our heritage reaches back through centuries of daily worship in the Cathedral, led by our choristers and we are proud to have a girls' choir as well as the traditional boy trebles who board in the former Bishop's Palace within the Close. Our academic success is based on excellent teaching and nurturing of our pupils in small classes where pupils are well known and understood. These simple, traditional virtues, very appropriate to the characteristics and principles of St Chad, our Patron, have nevertheless inspired our recent ambitious transformation and expansion from being a small Prep School into an all-through mixed day and boarding school. We have a clear vision to be a nationally recognised school serving its local area by creating an inclusive school community devoted to Christian ideals of learning, raising the aspirations of each of its members and fulfilling their potential in body, mind and spirit.
We welcome pupils of all faiths and none to come and look around; pupils and teachers are proud of the school and will be delighted to show it to you and I shall be delighted to meet you.
